Cam Bowen

AWOL Canyoning Adventures was first established in 1998 by Cam Bowen. After completing his Diploma in Business, Cam opted for a short exploratory holiday before starting in a career. The holiday proved to be the start of his career and a 10 year journey into the world of adventure tourism. These 10 years spent gaining experience in Queenstown, Zimbabwe, Nepal, and Europe. Working as a instructor and guide canyoning, rafting and diving. Returning to set up AWOL Canyoning Adventures in his home Waitakere Ranges, just West of Auckland.

AWOL Adventures is an Auckland Council licensed operator – this means we have ensured the resources we use are carefully chosen, managed and monitored. Our trips are designed to include not only adventure – but environmental and historical information about the Waitakere Ranges.
